The History of our Clinic
During the summer of 1953, Dr. Raymond Barker and family arrived on Guam. Dr. Barker was in charge of the medical work on Guam.

During the summer of 1953, Dr. Raymond Barker and family arrived on Guam. Dr. Barker was in charge of the medical work on Guam. A medical clinic was to be operated in connection with the mission headquarters in Agana, Guam.

In 1955, a modern medical clinic was built in Agana, Guam. During the 1970’s our location changed to Tamuning, which is still our present location. The original building included a minor surgery room, pharmacy, examining rooms, and a large waiting room.

Dr. Leslie Smart and family arrived on Guam on September 1956 to launch the medical work. A year later, Violet Clark (Cruz), R.N. arrived to help Dr. Smart. He saw 8-10 patients at the clinic for half a day and the other half he worked at Guam Memorial Hospital to help meet the finances needed to keep the clinic running in the early days.

As the years went by our clinic grew. We became a multi-specialty group which included dental, eye, physical therapy, and wellness center services. Lots of dedicated people have come and made their imprint on our history.
