
Dr. Keith Horinouchi, DrPH Preventive Care Dr. Keith Horinouchi has been practicing at the Guam SDA Wellness Center as a Clinical Preventionist and Nutrition Specialist since December of 1996. His training from the School of Public Health at Loma Linda University, the health teachings and fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and Biblical health principles, have all prepared him to practice lifestyle and nutritional medicine for the management and reversal of diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis, obesity, women's health, stress related disorders and other lifestyle related disorders.
Dr. Horinouchi has a Doctrate of Public Health (1982), in Preventive Care, a Masters of Public Health, in Nutrition, and Bachelors in Psychology. He also is one of the few licensed Nutritionists on Guam, and a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), a nationally recognized designation by the American College of Nutrition.
Other credentials include certification by the American Board of Preventive Care, certification by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Preventive and Rehabilitative Exercise Test Technologist, and a member of the recently formed American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
In addition to his clinical practice, he is the director of the NEWSTART program, provides lifestyle and nutritional medicine at the University of Guam Student Health Services, speaks at various conferences and organizations, and holds the position of Health Ministries Director for the Guam Micronesia Mission of the Seventh-day Adventists providing and coordinating needed healthcare services throughout Guam, Northern Marianas Islands, Republic of Palau, Federated States of Micronesia (Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae) and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
Past experiences including private practice in Kona, Hawaii, working with the Community Hospitals Division of the State of Hawaii and Health Promotion for Native Americans in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, California. |
